Dr. Jasminka Balderacchi is board-certified in board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as in hematology. She attended medical school at the University of Zagreb, Croatia; then completed her residency at Berkshire Medical Center where she was chief resident, followed by a fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Medical College.

She did elective rotations in cytopathology, gastrointestinal pathology and molecular pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Canter and hematology consultation service with Dr. Frizzera at New York - Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Balderacchi started her career at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, University Hospital to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, first as an associate attending pathologist and then as director of anatomic pathology. From there she went on to serve as Vice Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and liaison to Cancer Center at Maimonides Medical Center. As the Vice Chair and as member of hospital PI committee, cancer committee and breast cancer center leadership team, Dr. Balderacchi worked collaboratively with a team of experts to provide optimal patient care to cancer patients.

Dr. Balderacchi 15 years of experience in cancer pathology, with a special interest in breast, gastrointestinal pathology and non neoplastic and neoplastic hematology such as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood diseases. She was actively involved with teaching residents and fellows as well cancer research. Dr. Balderacchi has published several articles on breast disease in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal Of Clinical Pathology and Blood.

She is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
