Chief Executive Officer A co-founder of CBLPath and an architect of the Best Practice™ Partnership Program, Mr. Bryant has more than 20 years of leadership and management experience. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, he recruited and built CBLPath's industry renowned Sales and Marketing organization. Mr. Bryant subsequently served as the company's Chief Operating Officer during a period of strong, sustained growth and profitability. In his role as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Bryant was instrumental in negotiating the transaction that moved CBLPath into Sonic Healthcare's (SHL.AX) federation of laboratories. Prior to joining CBLPath, he was a Senior Regional Manager at DIANON Systems, Inc. (formerly, NASDAQ: DIAN), where he served in various positions in sales and management over his 10 years there, including National Sales Recruiter and Technical Sales Representative. During his tenure at DIANON, he was recognized as Regional Manager of the Year four times. Mr. Bryant served on Active Duty for six years and the Reserves for eight years in the United States Marine Corps. During Desert Storm, he was an Executive Officer of a Marine Infantry Company and served as Executive Officer of Troops on the USS Austin (LPD-4) for more than 600 embarked Sailors and Marines. He was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal for his performance. He resigned his commission as a Major in 2002. Mr. Bryant holds a B.S. in Economics with a Technical Option in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, N.C.
David G. McGinnis
Senior Vice President of Billing and Managed Care A co-founder of CBLPath, Mr. McGinnis has 15 years of managed care and government contracting experience. Previously, he was the Director of Contracting with DIANON Systems, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: DIAN), where he was responsible for negotiating, implementing and maintaining all of the company's contracts nationwide. During his tenure there, DIANON's contracts expanded from 50 to 650 with subsequent revenue growth from $5 million to $95 million. Prior to that, Mr. McGinnis spent five years with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Connecticut. There, he managed the team responsible for developing and administering alternate reimbursement methodologies for ancillary network providers across HMO, POS and PPO product lines. Mr. McGinnis holds an M.B.A. with a Health Systems Management Specialization and a B.S. in Medical Cytogenetic Technology from the University of Connecticut.
Carlos D. Urmacher, M.D., FCAP, FASCP
Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer A co-founder of CBLPath via the CBL acquisition, Dr. Urmacher is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Surgical Pathology and Dermatopathology. He is a member of several professional societies including the International Society of Dermatopathology and U.S. and Canadian Academies of Pathology, and is a fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Dr. Urmacher has served as a member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the New York Pathological Society, member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the World Health Organization and as a member of the editorial boards of TheAmericanJournalofSurgicalPathology and TheAmericanJournalofDermatopathology. Prior to joining CBL in 2000 as Co-Director and Chief of Surgical Pathology, he served as the Attending Pathologist at North Shore University Hospital – NYU School of Medicine in Manhasset, New York, and at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for 13 years. Dr. Urmacher is a frequent lecturer and has authored more than 70 articles and six medical textbook chapters. Dr. Urmacher graduated with an M.D. degree from the Central University of Venezuela and served his residencies in Pathology at Mount Sinai Hospital and his fellowships at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York University Hospital.
Jason Jones
Chief Information Officer With CBLPath since its inception, Mr. Jones has served in many positions of increasing responsibility. In addition to his key management role, he has also served as one of the company's two lead designers for the internally developed Total Pathology Solution (TPS) laboratory information management system (patent pending), Web Portal, TechPath CaseManager, LabIS® and related software solutions. He has more than 13 years of experience in information technology in both the public and private sectors. Nine of those years are in the healthcare industry, with a particular focus on medical software design and development. Prior to joining CBLPath, Mr. Jones served as Director of Information Technology for The Hillside Group, LLC, a provider of financial and marketing services to the elective healthcare markets. He also held the position of Associate Director of Information Technology for Radiology Associates, P.A., a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services throughout Central Florida. Mr. Jones studied computer science at Central Florida Community College.
David W. Parker
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Mr. Parker has 25 years of accounting and business management experience. For the three years prior to joining CBLPath, he was the Vice President of Finance and Administration for The Hillside Group, LLC, where he was responsible for overseeing all finance/accounting activities and human resources functions for the company. Previously, Mr. Parker served as Vice President: Business Operations for RMS Communications Group, Inc.; Vice President: Chief Financial Officer for MFM Industries, Inc.; Senior Vice President: Private Banking Manager for AmSouth Bank of Florida; Senior Vice President: Chief Financial Officer and Secretary for Mid-State Federal Savings Bank and Staff Accountant with Deloitte & Touche USA, LLP. Mr. Parker holds a B.A. in Accounting/Finance from the University of West Florida and earned his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1980.
Joseph Sinicropi
Chief Operating Officer Mr. Sinicropi has more than 25 years of experience in Finance and Operations. He served CBLPath as a consultant for six months prior to joining the company in January 2010 as Chief Operating Officer. Previously Mr. Sinicropi was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Del Laboratories, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of cosmetics and OTC pharmaceuticals with leading brands such as Sally Hansen and Orajel. Mr. Sinicropi's other former positions include Chief Financial Officer of IdeaSphere, Inc., a top provider of natural and organic supplements, and Chief Financial Officer of SI Corporation, an international marketer and manufacturer of polypropylene fabrics and fibers. IdeaSphere acquired Twin Laboratories Inc., where he was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Additionally, Mr. Sinicropi's experience includes 10 years with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an M.B.A. in Accounting from St. John's University and a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University.
Muhammad B. Zaman, M.D.
Chief of Cytopathology Dr. Muhammad B. Zaman is board certified in cytopathology, anatomic pathology and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. He received his M.B., B.S. degree from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan in 1970 and his M.D. from the University of the State of New York. After graduating from King Edward Medical College, Dr. Zaman completed a rotating internship at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in Bronx, New York, and then completed his pathology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and City Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York, where he also served as Chief Resident. Following his residency, Dr. Zaman completed a fellowship in cytology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Subsequently, he served as an Assistant Attending and Associate Attending Pathologist for Cytology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1976 to 1991 as well as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology at Cornell University Medical College. Most recently, Dr. Zaman was an Attending Pathologist and the Director of Cytology for Westchester Medical Center and a Professor of Clinical Pathology at New York Medical College. He is currently Consulting Pathologist for Cytology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Zaman was Director of Pathology Residency and Cytopathology Fellowship Training at Westchester Medical Center – New York Medical College for the past 12 years. Dr. Zaman published 34 articles as well as eight reviews and book chapters related to pathology. He has completed three major illustrated chapters for the fifth edition of Koss' Diagnostic Cytology and Its Histopathologic Bases, which was published in 2006 and edited by Leopold Koss and Myron R. Melamed. Dr. Zaman is active in teaching cytopathology in national and international conferences. He specializes in FNA interpretation of all superficial and deep-seated organs. Dr. Zaman is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and a member of the American Society of Cytopathology, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the New York State Society of Pathology, the New York Pathological Society, the Westchester Society of Pathologists and the Memorial Hospital Alumni Society.
Robert L. Bjork
Vice President and Corporate Controller Mr. Bjork has nearly 30 years of general and financial management experience, having served in numerous positions that include Chief Accountant, Controller, Director of Management Information Systems, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President. His range of experience spans multiple industries including electronics manufacturing, printing, metal fabrication, modular office manufacturing, rubber reclamation and crumb rubber manufacturing. Prior to joining CBLPath, Bjork was a founding member of the executive team for a manufacturing start-up, which grew to a multi-million dollar operation in less than four years. During that time, he was responsible for developing all accounting systems, financial statements, human resource policies, administrative forms and manufacturing process reports. Prior to his career in finance, Bjork earned an undergraduate degree in Music while on a music scholarship. After graduation, he joined the military and was stationed in Ft. Myers, Virginia, serving in the U.S. Army Honor Guard as a musician and Assistant Section Leader. He performed shows for the White House and throughout the U.S. After completing his tour of duty, he worked as a musician while completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from George Mason University. Later, while working as Controller and Director of Management Information Systems for a multi-million dollar electronics manufacturing firm, Bjork earned an M.B.A. in Management from NOVA Southeastern University.
Jill Ellis
Vice President of Sales and Service Support Ms. Ellis joined CBLPath as the company's first sales representative in 2003 and rose through the ranks of the sales team to be named Vice President of Sales in 2007. She has more than 18 years of experience in sales and sales management, with 16 years in the laboratory industry. Prior to joining CBLPath Ms. Ellis served at DIANON Systems, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: DIAN) in the positions of Technical Sales Representative, National Sales Trainer, Marketing Manager and Senior Regional Manager for the Northeast Region. She started her career at the commercial lending/trading desk with the investment services company Drexel Burnham Lambert. Ms. Ellis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in French from Rutgers University.
Heather B. Hulford
Vice President of Contracting Ms. Hulford has 16 years of contracting experience. For the past three years, she has been the Director of Contracting with CBLPath, Inc. Prior to that, she was the Contracts Manager with DIANON Systems, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: DIAN). Previously, Ms. Hulford was Contract Administrator and Senior Contract Administrator for FlexiInternational Software and United States Surgical Corporation. Ms. Hulford holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Fairfield University.
Jules Laino
Vice President of Quality Assurance Mr. Laino has more than 26 years of anatomic pathology experience, 21 of which are in management and administration. He was one of CBLPath's first hired employees holding the title of Director of Laboratory Operations. His development of all laboratory policies and procedures, implementation of quality systems, safety and quality committees were all significant contributions toward CBLPath receiving accreditation by the College of American Pathologists. In this role, Mr. Laino was also responsible for CBLPath obtaining New York State Department of Health practicing permits for both the Manhattan and Pennsylvania satellite offices. He was promoted to Director of Program Development and Cytopathology where his accomplishments brought technology and licensing permits to practice fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) techniques used in breast, uropathology and hematopathology diagnostic and prognostic testing. Mr. Laino is currently involved with ongoing validation, technical development, quality assurance and risk assessment and prevention. Prior to joining CBLPath he held a Technical Research Specialist position where he became co-founder of a comprehensive technical and quantitative urine cytopathology program to more accurately determine pre-malignant and malignant urinary tract disease. He further developed this technology to include all urine sediment and to define the origin of hematuria, and it was adopted by CBLPath and is now known as the USA Cytology® (Urine Sediment Analysis) program. Mr. Laino began his career in cytopathology at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He also served as Laboratory Director at a well known health care institution, successfully overseeing their New York operations for several years. Mr. Laino holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Long Island University C.W. Post College and a license in Cytotechnology.
Michael T. Ziegler
Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mr. Ziegler joined CBLPath as a Sales Representative in 2006 and was a top sales performer in the President’s Club that year as well as during the subsequent two years. He most recently held the position of Director of Sales Operations and Administration in which he was instrumental in the development, launch and execution of CBLPath’s Best Practice™ Partnership Program. Prior to joining CBLPath, Mr. Ziegler was in the executive training program at Home Depot, where he was awarded the Six Sigma Orange Belt for sales process improvement. Previously he was Consumer Banking Officer/Branch Manager for AmSouth Bank. Mr. Ziegler served four years as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps and was promoted to the rank of Captain. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics at the College of the Holy Cross.
